LARNED — Carl P. DeCoudres, 91, died April 26 at his home in Larned. He was born Dec. 29, 1921, at Fort Scott, to Louis W. and Madge Ethel Clayton DeCoudres. A resident of Larned since 1951, he was a retired welder.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Larned. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, with the 511th Parachute Infantry, and received a Purple Heart.
On Feb. 14, 1946, he married Lorene F. Thompson at Fort Scott. She died Oct. 1, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Charles W. and wife Debbie DeCoudres, Kansas City, Mo., and Rickie E. and wife Lisa DeCoudres, Larned; three daughters, Carol F. and husband Ronny Hall, Ellsworth, Terrie L. and husband Don Keeslar, Larned, Mary J. and husband Richard Bridges, Garden City; 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Carl and Leroy; two daughters, Edna M. DeCoudres and Dian Bartlett; five brothers, Ralph, Clayton, Ernest, William and Louis; and one sister, Eula Mae.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with Pastor Leroy Lyon presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery, with Military Honors.
