Carla M. Yahne, 63, died Oct. 27 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Born Aug. 17, 1950 in Wichita, she was the daughter of Max and Genelle (White) Vinson. On June 7, 1970 she married Bruce E. Yahne in Great Bend. She was a graduate of Brown Mackie College and Barton Community College. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was a secretary in the oil and gas industry, being employed by Terra Resources and Phillips 66, and was a legal clerk for Kaufman and Horner Law Office.
Mrs. Yahne was a member of the First Christian Church, Barton County Desk and Derrick, Western Kansas Chapter of API, Oil and Gas Museum board, Girls Home board, and was a volunteer for the Barton County Food Bank.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce E. Yahne, of the home; two sisters, Cuma Mae Zeltner of Pratt, and Cheryl Maxine Logan and husband Jon of McKinney, Texas; 12 nieces and nephews; and 10 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by a brother-in-law, Jim Zeltner.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the First Christian Church in Great Bend with the Rev. William F. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Barton County Desk and Derrick or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
