ELLINWOOD — Carol L. Smith, 74, died Dec. 27 at her home in Ellinwood.  Born Sept. 2, 1938 at Eureka, she was the daughter of Christopher “Harmon” Meadows and Clara “Louise” (Sanders) Meadows.
On Jan. 20, 1957, she married Danny Smith, and enjoyed a 28 year marriage.  Smith was formerly of Australia for two years and Hawaii for 28 years, where she owned a Christian Bookstore before retiring.  A long time resident of Ellinwood, she was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood.  
Survivors include her mother, Clara “Louise” Meadows of Ellinwood, a sister, Sally Bayer of Ellinwood, and two nephews and two nieces.  She is preceded in death by her father, Harmon Meadows, and a sister, Imogene Werner.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 2 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood, with Rev. S. Kasey Crosby officiating.  Family will be available for calls from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood.  Burial will take place at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood.
