PRATT — Carolee Webster, 79, died April 21, in Pratt. Born April 21, 1935, in Dodge City, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Mildred Deford. A graduate of Garden City High School, Carolee married the love of her life Jim Webster on July 17, 1952, in Clayton N.M. A devoted mother and coaches’ wife, she followed her husband to Munden, Macksville, Cunningham, and Pratt where she has resided since 1973. She worked at Pratt County Hospital, Foreman Pipeline Industries, Eubank Veterinary Clinic and at the Sanders Agency in Pratt.
She was a member of the Pratt United Methodist Church, Lorraine Chapter #39 Order of the Eastern star, and in 1998 served as Grand Martha for Eastern Star Grand Chapter of Kansas.
Survivors include a sister, Joyce Schanel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Steve Webster and wife Debbie, of Great Bend; three granddaughters, Haley Webster of Hays, Stephanie Webster of Great Bend, Ashley Riedell and Kelsey Carpenter, of Gloucester, Va.; one grandson David Webster of Daegu, South Korea; Penny and Tasha Wilkinson, Pratt, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. (Jim) Webster; a son Greg; and a daughter Elaine.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, at Larrison Mortuary with Dr. Dan Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Skyline Athletic Memorial Fund or Southwind Hospice in care of the mortuary.
