Caroline A. Hoffman 1931-2011
CLAFLIN — Caroline A. Hoffman, 80, died May 24, 2011 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.
She was born  January 10, 1931, at Great Bend, the daughter of Louis G. and Elizabeth  (Johanning) Birzer.
She married Anthony “Tony” A. Hoffman June 1, 1950 at Hoisingon. He died October 7, 2010. She was a lifetime Hoisington and Claflin area resident. She was a former member St. Catherine Catholic Church and Christian Mothers of Dubuque, a member Holy Family Catholic Church and Altar Society, Odin and  D of I Circle, Great Bend. She loved gardening and flowers.
Survivors include six sons, Larry Hoffman and wife Chris, Shawnee; Mark Hoffman and wife Guia, Kempton, Ill.; Brian Hoffman and wife Bernie,  Claflin; Keith Hoffman and wife Ann, Raymore, Mo.; Craig Hoffman and wife Shelly, Wichita; Brent Hoffman and wife Elizabeth, Spring Hill; two daughters: Linda Hoffman and husband Robert Hasler, Oakland, Calif.;  Pamela Wirth and husband David, Ellinwood; three sisters, Bernice Birzer, Leawood; Norma Keenan, Victoria; and Marie Robison, Warrensburg, Mo.; 29 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Birzer.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Dubuque, Kan. with Celebrant Father Charles Mazouch. Interment will be at St. Catherine Cemetery, Dubuque.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, May 27 with a vigil service at 7 p.m. followed by Altar Society/D of I  rosary, all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.
