LARNED — Clara “Irene” Blackwell, 106, passed away June 21, 2017 at the North Shore Health and Rehab Facility, Loveland. Born Jan. 18, 1911 in Larned, she was the daughter of O.H. and Stella L. Wheeler Fell. A Longtime area resident moving from Pawnee Rock in 1983 she was a Records Registrar at the Santa Fe Trail Center.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Pawnee Rock and Daughters of the American Revolution.
On Sept. 1, 1932 she married Roy Charles Blackwell in Larned. He passed away March 16, 1971.
Survivors include: three sons, Dean (Nelda) Blackwell, Vermillion, S.D., Duane (Sondra) Blackwell, Sebring, Fla., and Gary (Evelyn) Blackwell, Stuart, Fla.; one daughter, Karen (Dwight) Johnson, Loveland, Colo.; one sister, Nadine Miller, Beatrice, Neb.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joy Ann Blackwell and Barbara June Armstrong; two brothers, Cliff Fell and Ted Fell; four sisters, Fern Drain, Rita Roach, Lorraine Fell and Wilma Fraser.
Burial has taken place and a memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13 at First Christian Church with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding.
