Cody Xavier Pfeifer, 29, passed away Oct. 19, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kan. He was born on Jan. 11, 1994, in Hays, Kan., to Todd and Tambra (Herdman) Pfeifer.
A resident of Hutchinson, Cody was an assistant store manager at Dillons. He was an avid board and card game player, along with his love on Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, Cosplay Conventions, and anime. Cody could also be found either at the lake, camping in Colorado, or just being outside. Above all, Cody cherished his time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include his parents; sisters, Sierra, Marissa (fiancé, Landon Winkler), Johanna (fiancé, Tyler Grieb), and Erin Pfeifer, all of Great Bend; grandparents, Ray and Sheila Pfeifer and Harold Herdman; three uncles, Dr. Cory Pfeifer, Chad (Stephanie) Herdman, and Trenton (Jana) Herdman; six cousins, Athena Grotheer, Justin Herdman, Joey Herdman, Jeremy Herdman, Clayton Herdman, Garrison Herdman, and Kendrick Herdman; close friends, Tiffany Ireland, Isaiah Pesina, Aaron Hostetler and Bryan Hostetler; and beloved dog, Yuki. Cody was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Phyllis Stuart and Janet Herdman..
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, with family receiving guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Adam Wutka presiding.
