MOORELAND, Okla. — Corinne Hensley, 99 year old Mooreland resident died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020 in Mooreland. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 in the Mooreland Cemetery. Interment will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 

Corinne was born on May 28, 1921 in Mooreland, Okla.; she was the daughter of Walter Christopher and Florence Ethel (Schilling) Syms. Corinne grew up on the family farm 2 ½ miles south of Mooreland. She attended school in Mooreland and graduated from Mooreland High School. She was united in marriage to Vern Hensley on Sept. 15, 1939. They made their home south of Mooreland. They were blessed with six children, Leland, Leroy, Lowell, Ray, Ronald Dean, and Leah. In 1943 they moved to their present farm near Curtis. Corinne and Vern continued to grow their farm and ranch operation acquiring more land near Curtis. Corinne and Vern survived three tornados and a fire which destroyed their home.   

Corinne was know as the Avon Lady. She spent almost 40 years selling Avon, and enjoyed every minute of it. 

Corinne is survived by four sons, Leland Hensley and wife Mary Jane of Mooreland; Leroy Hensley and wife Anna Faye of Great Bend, Kan.; Lowell Hensley and wife Barbara of Woodward; Dean Hensley and wife Eileen of Mooreland; daughter, Leah Hepner of Mooreland; daughter-in-law, Joleen Hensley of Mooreland; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter C. Syms of Mooreland; brother-in-law, Gene Beard of Udall, Kan.; several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence Syms; husband, Vern Hensley; son, Ray Hensley; one brother, Jay Syms; three sisters, Wilma, Ethel, Jean; and one grandson, Skylar. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland Fire Fighters Association with the funeral accepting the contributions. Remembrances may be shared online at www.billingsfuneralhomewoodward.com.
