ELLINWOOD — Dale C Schadel was born May 16th, 1933 to Ray and Inez (Miller) Schadel in Larned Kan. He passed from this life on Sept. 2, 2022.

He graduated from Alexander High School and met and later married his life long sweetheart Donna Brack. They were married Nov. 18, 1953. In 1956 they moved from the homestead farm to Great Bend where Dale worked in the oilfield. In 1960 the family moved to the farm north of Ellinwood where they live for 48 years. Dale worked for Marlette Homes for 23 years until the plant closed in 1985. Dale went to work at Kansas Department of Transportation until he retired. 

He loved hunting and fishing, with goose hunting being his favorite. He met many lifetime friends while hunting. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Dean Schadel; and son Stan Schadel. He leaves behind his wife, Donna of the home; daughter Dalonna Chavez, Joplin Mo.; son Russell Schadel, Ellinwood; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces; and many hunting buddies. 

Services will be held at Ellinwood United Methodist Church, Sept. 6, 2022 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Ellinwood United Methodist Church in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
