Dana Lynn Lancaster

Dana Lynn Lancaster, 73, passed away March 18, 2022, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover. She was born on May 21, 1948, in Dodge City to Duane and Margaret (Murphy) Boyter. She married Larry Lancaster on Dec. 4, 1981, in Great Bend. 

Dana spent her childhood years in Alva then Woodard, Okla. She then moved to Wichita to begin her adult life at which time she became involved in healthcare. She pursued her nursing education at Butler County Community College, Barton County Community College and received her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Fort Hays State University, all while serving as a full time nurse as she advanced her education. Being a two time cancer survivor she was totally committed to her profession. 

Dana ended her long and successful nursing career upon retirement in 2011. She then assumed the duties of resident home nurse. Dana enjoyed gardening, reading, being the “keeper of the home” and Larry’s soulmate. 

Survivors include, her husband, Larry Lancaster of the home; a daughter, Jamie Mock of Wichita; two grandchildren, Miranda and Travis Mock; great granddaughter, Makinleigh; her brothers, Larry Boyter and Chris Boyter; and beloved cousins, Gloria and Joree. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2022, at First Christian Church in Great Bend, with Pastor Josh Leu presiding. A private family interment will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita. Memorials have been designated to the Heartland Cancer Center or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
