Daniel Maurice “Danny” Schwartz

Daniel Maurice “Danny” Schwartz, 69, passed away May 7, 2022, at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Wichita. He was born Feb. 8, 1953, in Great Bend to Maurice Charles and B. Marie (Pfiefer) Schwartz. Danny married Stacy Stinemetz Nov. 17, 1979, in Great Bend.

Danny, a lifetime resident of Great Bend, owned and operated Mr. Burger and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War Era. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and enjoyed time spent with family, never missing his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include his wife, Stacy of the home; four sons, Mitchell Schwartz and wife Kris of Otis, Chris Schwartz and wife Sarah of Great Bend, Joshua Schwartz of Hoisington, and Brett Schwartz and wife Allison of Great Bend; one daughter, Farah Stude and husband Tim of Syracuse; 14 grandchildren, Alyssa Schwartz, Ky Schwartz, Kaden Schwartz, Gage Stude, Kirsten Stude, Aiden Stude, Liam Schwartz, Linden Schwartz, Lindsey Schwartz, Taylor Urban and husband Sean, Paige Schwartz, Ryker Schwartz, Jaxson Schwartz and Ryann Schwartz; six great grandchildren; five brothers, Robert Schwartz and wife Barbara of Great Bend, Duane Schwartz of Grand Island, Neb., Bill Schwartz and wife Jaynee of Great Bend, Kevin Schwartz of Great Bend, Keith Schwartz and wife Kay of Salina; three sisters, Kathy Pedigo and husband Don of Great Bend, Elaine Miller and husband Craig of McPherson, and Pam Stegman and husband Tom of Yukon, Okla.; and sister in law, Dawn Schwartz of Wichita. He was preceded by in death by his parents, Maurice Charles and B. Marie Schwartz; a brother, Kenny Schwartz; and sister in law, Diane Schwartz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, with military rites conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard.  Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorial may be given to D.A.V., in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
