Darlene G. Carter

LARNED — Darlene G. Carter, 87, died June 15, 2011 at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
She was born Dec. 30, 1923, near Hill City, the daughter of Ivan and Hazel Stephen Ginther. A resident of Larned since 2002, previously of Great Bend, she was a homemaker. On Feb. 2, 2002, she married Harold D. Carter, in Great Bend. He survives.
Mrs. Carter was of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include two sons, Darwin W. Brown, Troy, Mich.; and Joey Brown, Jacksonville, Texas; a daughter, Debbie Spires, Topeka; three sisters, Alwyn Johnson, Stoningtone, Maine; Sharon Lewis, Idaho Springs, Colo.; and Jerilyn Cannon, Iola; four brothers, John Ginther, Hays; Garland Ginther, Fulton; Verlin Ginther, Garden City; and Gary Ginther, Goodland; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded by one son, Steven Brown.
A graveside service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21 at Great Bend Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Slattery  presiding.
