OTIS — Darlene Kay Richards, 56, died April 9 at Hays Medical Center. Born Jan. 22, 1958, in Colorado Springs, Colo., she was the daughter of Emil and Wanda (Berry) Vsetecka. She married Ron Richards in Larned. They later divorced. A resident of Otis since 1992, coming from Larned, she was a cook for the Larned State Hospital until retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Jessica Wasson of Great Bend and Robin K. Hill of Otis; step-daughter, Sheila Richards of Mount Hope; one sister, Donna Vsetecka of South Hutchinson; one brother: Daniel Vsetecka of Larned; and three grandchildren, Nautika Richards, Malachi Wasson and Shorie Hill. She was preceded in death by stepson, John Richards; and brother, Tom Fuller.
Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 14 at Bohemian National Cemetery in Timken. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
