ELLINWOOD — David M. Sauber, 61, passed away at Ellinwood District Hospital on Oct. 19, 2018. Born on Dec. 21, 1956 in Ellinwood, Kan. he was the son of Ambrose and Regina (Miller) Sauber. A lifetime Ellinwood area resident he graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1975. David was a longtime employee at Great Bend Manufacturing.
Memberships include St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood and the local Knights of Columbus. David loved the outdoors where he enjoyed time fishing, hunting, and riding his ATV.
Survivors include sisters, Marcia Sauber, Ellinwood, Kan. and Colleen (Bob) Ward, Hutchinson, Kan.; adopted daughter, Amanda Fields, Ellinwood, Kan.; grandchildren, Shadow Myers, William Fields Jr., Markus Fields, and Lucian Fields. Other survivors include nephews, Konan Hauser and Kory Hauser.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood, Kan. with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood, Kan. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m., Monday, October 22, with family present from 6-7 p.m. and parish Rosary/Vigil at 7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, Kan. Memorials are suggested to Saint Joseph’s Catholic School Endowment Fund in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
