MCPHERSON — Delores “Dee” Mae Talbott, 85, formerly of McPherson, Kan., passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at Hillsboro Community Hospital, Hillsboro, Kan. Dee owned a clothing alteration business in La Crosse, Kan., and then was the office manager for the Talbott Insurance Agency. 

Dee was born on Sept. 16, 1933, in Oakland, Calif. She married Gene W. Serpan in 1950, and he died Aug. 30, 1969. In 1971, she married Thomas Urban of La Crosse, Kan. She then married Orton L. Talbott in 1987, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2010.

Survivors include, two sons, Oris Serpan (Carolyn) of Colwich, Kan., and Lyndy Serpan (Karen) of Edmond, Okla.; daughter, Tava Serpan of Denver, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Mylene Serpan of Sedgwick, Kan.; stepson, Rick Talbott of Wichita, Kan.; sisters, Evelyn Jacobson of Salina, Kan., and Bernice Robison of Henderson, Nev.; and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Linger; mother, Marie (Schilling) Butcher; husbands; son, Terry Serpan; two sisters, Phyllis Barrett and Gwendolyn Tuzicka; and stepson, Ron Talbott.  

Private burial of cremains will be held at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Timken, Kan., and the Excelsior Cemetery near Marquette, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
