MISSOURI CITY, Texas — Delores Jean Piper, 75, died Dec. 14 at Atrium Medical Center in Stafford, Texas. She was born Feb. 23, 1935, at Great Bend, the daughter of Harley Ray and Ruth Ann (Alefs) Evers. She married Ronnie Piper on Sept. 25, 1955, at Great Bend. She was a nurse. A Missouri City, Texas, resident since 1988, she moved from Great Bend in 1962, living in Tulsa, Okla., and New Orleans, La.
Mrs. Piper was a former member of First Christian Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, J.R. Piper and wife Mary of Mandeville, La., and Steve Piper and wife Elizabeth of Mt. Bellevue, Texas; one brother, David Evers and wife Donna of Great Bend; four grandchildren, Charlotte Lewis, Ronnie Piper, Jason Piper and Katherine Piper; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Delton Evers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. William F. Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Lupus Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
