Delores Lorraine Strecker Uhrich

Delores Lorraine Strecker Uhrich, 87, passed away May 11, 2022, under her loving family’s care at her granddaughter, Brooke’s, house in Halstead. She was born on Feb. 17, 1935, in Victoria to Nicholas and Rose (Dreiling) Braun. Delores attended Brown Mackie College where she met Leon Strecker. They were married on April 23, 1955, in Ellinwood. He died Aug. 12, 1992. She then married Cletus Uhrich on March 11, 2000, in Great Bend. He died Dec. 19, 2011. 

A longtime Great Bend resident, Delores was a bookkeeper for several area oilfield companies. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Great Bend Desk and Derrick, and enjoyed playing bridge. Delores especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Survivors include, her children, Monty Strecker and wife Catherine of Ellinwood, Julie Bauman and husband Carl of Great Bend, and Carrie Bridges and husband Kirk of Halstead; two brothers, Francis Braun of Titusville, Fla. and Darrell Braun and wife Mignon of Odessa, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Jacob Strecker (Andrea), Nicklaus Strecker (Laura), Rachel Strecker (Shameem), Rebecca Smith (Jordon), Joanna Strecker, Amanda Clarke, Ashlee Meyerhoff (Kurt), Zachary Bauman (Hailey), Brooke Panzer (Jarrod), Brandy Mabry (Zack), Bryon Bridges (Stephanie) and Bradley Bridges (Maddie) and 31 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Nick Braun, Jr.; a sister, Freida Rychlec; a sister in law, Millie Braun; and two great grandchildren, Elyjah Bridges and McCoy Smith. 

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2022 at Bryant Funeral Home, with an Altar Society rosary at 4 p.m. and Vigil service and Daughters of Isabella rosary at 72 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Aneesh Parappanattu presiding and Father Max Biltz concelebrating. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to Holy Family School Endowment Fund or St. Joseph Catholic School Endowment Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
