STAFFORD — Dennis Dale Harter, 65, passed away Oct. 19, 2015. Born on Feb. 25, 1950, in Larned, he was the son of Dale R. and Louise E. (Fehrenbacher) Harter. In 1968 he graduated from St. John High School. He attended Fort Hays State University, and Kansas State University-Salina. A resident of Stafford since 1996, he was the store manager of NAPA-Harter Automotive in Stafford. Mr. Harter was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Airforce. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Metz-Harter-Culbreath Post of St. John. Survivors include his mother of St. John; two sons, Justin Harter of Stafford, and Jeffrey Harter of Junction City; a brother, David Harter of St. John; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Kathryn Gerstner. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John, with Sister Catherine Therese presiding.
