CHASE — Dennis LeRoy Sheldon, 65, died Feb. 25, 2016, at Rice County District Hospital in Lyons. He was born Jan. 3, 1951, at Holyoke, Colo., the son of Lavern and Nettie Fisher Sheldon. He resided in Chase since 1987 and was formerly of Ellinwood.
He graduated high school in Wray, Colo. with the class of 1968; he also attended Auctioneer School in Mason City, Iowa. He was a bull hauler and a member of the Independent Truck Drivers Association.
Survivors include, spouse, Sue Andrews, of the home; mother, Nettie Sheldon, Laird, Colo.; son, Robert (Susie) Spring, Derby: two daughters, Debbie (Kirk) Glenn, Sterling, Deadra Schlotthauer, Ellinwood: three sisters, Nancy Reynold, Venango, Neb,, Lois (Dan) Donahue, Bird City, and Susie (Tom) Quint, Akron, Colo.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Lavern Sheldon; 2 Sons, J.D.Sheldon, Edward Paul Sheldon.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at Birzer Funeral Home in Lyons, with Pastor Mike Joiner officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Dennis Sheldon Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
