Denver Herren Richards, 61, passed away Dec. 30, 2020, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. He was born Sept. 24, 1959, at Kingman, to Gary L. and Florence M. (Herren) Richards.
Denver was a employed at Sunflower Diversified Services, Inc., working as one Sunflower’s hose assembly specialists, winding and tying hoses for Flame Engineering out of LaCrosse, Kan. He also worked in Sunflower’s recycling operations for several years. He enjoyed lending his building skills to several of Sunflower’s wood construction projects, including pallets and dog houses. His love for working with tools was obvious over his 20 year career at Sunflower.
Denver was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Great Bend and the Aktion Club. He was a very creative and friendly person. He never knew a stranger. Denver loved oldies music, semi trucks, power tools and big machinery. He could create or build something from nothing. He especially loved to spend time with his family.
Survivors include, a brother, Cole L. Richards and wife Carolynn of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Holly Regan of Great Bend; four nieces, Kelly Regan of Great Bend; Kirsten Zoller and husband Ryan of Salina, Marie Richards of San Diego, Calif., and Katie Richards of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother in law, Dave Regan.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place and services are pending. Memorials have been designated to Sunflower Diversified Services, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
