Diana Collins, 57, died Aug. 15 at her home in Great Bend. She was born Jan. 19, 1955, at San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Richard and Eulalia (Salazar) Mendez. She married Dickey Collins on Jan. 13, 1973, at Syracuse. They later divorced.
She was a cashier for Braum’s.
Mrs. Collins was a Great Bend resident since 2000, coming from Deerfield.
Survivors include one son, Allen Collins and his wife Amanda of Pratt; four daughters, Linda Garcia, Susan Wren and Brittney Collins, all of Great Bend, and Hope Gonzalez and her husband Ruben of Woodward, Okla.; three sisters, Sylvia Bobadilla of San Antonio, Texas, and Mary Helen Mendez and Irene Duke, both of Salina; one brother, Gilbert Mendez of Great Bend; and 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson and one great-grandson.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore, celebrant. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Diana Collins Funeral Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
