Dolores A. Demel, 83, passed away November 8, 2020, Hays Medical Center, Hays.  She was born January 4, 1937, in rural Great Bend, to Albert and Mary (Wondra) Jenisch.  Dolores married Stephen Frank Demel April 23, 1957, in Odin.  He died Oct. 22, 2014.

Dolores, a lifetime resident of rural Odin, was a farm wife and homemaker and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin.  She enjoyed KU basketball, Kansas City Royals, NASCAR and playing pinochle with her family.

Survivors include four sons, Roy Demel and wife Gracie of Ellinwood, Daniel Demel and wife Darlene of Claflin, Darryl Demel and wife Brandi of Claflin and Randy Demel of Claflin; one brother, Raymond Jenisch of Hoisington; two sisters, Virginia Zink of Tecumseh and Lucille Kaiser of Redwing; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen, and one daughter, Bonita Demel.

Due to pandemic concerns, a private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin, with Father Don Bedore.  Private interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Odin.  Services will be available to be viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.  Public visitation will be Thursday, Nov., 12, 2020, from 3 – 8 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS, 67544.
