Donald Bert Gordon, 73, died June 17, 2016, at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born July 25, 1942, in Great Bend he was the son of Guy and Lucile Irene (Ottinger) Gordon. On Dec. 20, 1980, he married Luz Betty Porras in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend he was a case manager for Sunflower Diversified Services, retiring after 30 years of service. He previously taught art at Oregon State University.
Mr. Gordon was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Luz Betty Gordon, of the home; one sister, Judy Kuhlman of Stevensville, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother-in-law, Ken Kuhlman.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Great Bend with Pastor Julie Shields and Father Ted Stoecklein officiating. Entombment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to First Congregational United Church of Christ or Holy Family School Endowment Fund, in care of the funeral home.
