Donald Mark Oberle 1948 - 2014

CHASE — Donald Mark Oberle Sr., 66, passed away Aug. 11, at his home in Chase. Born July 3, 1948, in Great Bend, he was the son of George J. and Florentine L. (Kimpler) Oberle. A lifelong resident of Chase, he was a pipe-liner in the petroleum industry. On Dec. 23, 2002, he married Debbie (Gilley) in Great Bend. She survives of the home.
Mr. Oberle was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and had membership in the NRA.  
Other survivors include mother, Florentine (Kimpler) Oberle; four sons, Donald and Roy Oberle,of  Bushton, and Randy and Ricky Pray, of Lyons; four daughters, Cindy Brady of Chase, Sheri Smith of Smolan, Christina Travis of Salina, and Rachel Donovan of Ellinwood; four brothers, Jim Oberle of Bushton, Leon Oberle of Claflin, Gerald and Tony Oberle, both of Chase; a sister, Mary Harold of Chase; 23 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and a step-father, Tony Oberle.  
Rosary service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home with visitation to follow until 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Burial will follow at the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery North of Ellinwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
