Donna Jean Schrepel, 66, died Feb. 14, 2017, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born June 6, 1950, at Manitowoc, Wis., the daughter of Norman and Gertrude (Riesterer) Trinka. She married Alvin Frederick Schrepel Jr. on May 31, 1969, at San Diego, Calif. A Great Bend resident since 1974, coming from San Diego, Mrs. Schrepel was Jefferson School lunchroom manager for Unified School District 428. She collected elephants.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Alvin F. Schrepel III and his wife Heather of Olathe, and Jon Schrepel of Great Bend; three sisters, Linda Tatman of Great Bend, Lisa Niethamer of Topeka, and Laura Jeno of Topeka; one brother, Ted Trinka of Hoisington; and two grandchildren, Alyson Schrepel and Avery Schrepel. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenneth Jeno; one brother, Rick Trinka; one sister, Sandra Trinka; and a grandson, Tyler Schrepel.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Don Paden officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. on Monday and 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
