LARNED — Donna L. Hanken, 79, passed away June 15, 2021 at Diversicare of Larned.
She was born May 9, 1942 in Great Bend to William and Nora Wing Mog. A lifetime area resident, she was a food service director for both USD 495 and Larned State Hospital. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Larned, where she was a Deacon and member of the Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of Fort Larned Good Sam’s Club, Pawnee County Humane Society, and she enjoyed bowling, softball, tennis, card clubs, friends, and her dogs, Lucky and Gizmo. She volunteered as a 4-H leader, the Red Cross, and with the election board.
On Sept. 31, 1961 she married Erwin Dean Hanken at Larned; he survives. Other survivors include, two daughters, Missy (Brad) Schmidt, Harrisonville, Mo., Rhonda (Steve) Molde, Wichita; a sister, Sue Seeman, Larned; five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Bill Stapleton presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be in Larned Cemetery at a later date.
