Dorothy A. Rodie, 87, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. She was born Aug. 24, 1928, at Stark County, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Marie (Autzen) Dickerson.

Rodie married Marvin Rodie May 10, 1952, at Hays. He died Sept. 7, 1997. A long-time Hoisington resident, she was a homemaker and farm wife, teaching in Schaffer in the 1950s prior to marriage.

Survivors include: One son, Bruce Rodie and his wife Cindy of Hoisington; one sister, Betty Snodgrass of Newton, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Ryan Rodie of Overland Park and Kaitlyn Rodie of Hoisington. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Marie Rodie, and by a sister, Maxine Boettcher.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 415 N. Main, Hoisington, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
