Dorothy Jean Doty, 90, passed away on Dec. 27, 2021 at Diversicare of Larned. She was born on Dec. 31, 1930 at Manhattan, Kan. to Clarence Levi and Anna Belle (Marken) Cobler. On May 5, 1951, she married Ernest Richard Doty in Great Bend, Kan. He died on Oct. 13, 1993.
Dorothy was a Great Bend, Kan. resident and homemaker. She loved all animals and was passionate about taking care and feeding stray cats, reading, watching soap operas, and spending time with family, the grandkids, and especially the great-grands.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda (Ron) Heine of Great Bend; one sister, Lucille Haines of Great Bend; five grandchildren, Kim (Cecil) Petrie, Chris (Kathi) Heine, Jeff (Ann) Heine, Rick (Janelle) Heine, Brent (Megan) Heine; 17 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers including a twin brother, Donald Cobler; and four sisters.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Munz presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Golden Belt Humane Society or Great Bend Public Library, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
