O’FALLON, Mo. — Dorothy Barbara “Dot” Jordan, 58, died May 21 at O’Fallon, Mo.  Born Aug. 20, 1955 at Ellsworth, she was the daughter of William and Mary Gerritzen.  
She married the love of her life Joseph A. “Joe” Jordan on December 28, 1973, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, in Great Bend, KS.  They had four children, John Allen, Joleen Lynn, Jennifer Marie and Jason Joseph. They resided on the family farm near Claflin, KS, until 1992, when they moved to O’Fallon, Mo., where Joe was employed. She resided in their O’Fallon home until her death from lung cancer with her husband, Joe, at her side.
Dot received her accounting degree and was very active in her children’s lives, acting as scout leader for her boys, who both became Eagle Scouts, as well as her girls. She loved the outdoors and had a green thumb. She helped teach PSR at Assumption Church in O’Fallon, Mo, until she started her chemotherapy in 2011. She stayed active in her children and grandchildren’s lives until the end. She loved to crochet, sing, dance, and have fun, but hated housework.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph, of O’Fallon, Mo.; her son, John (Dawn) and their two sons, Jackson and Christian of Overland Park; her daughters,  Joleen (Scott) and their three children Cody, Michael and Holly of O’Fallon, and Jennifer (John) and their five children Steven and Chelsea and their daughter Serenity of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Matthew, Troy, Samuel and Emily of Moscow Mills, Mo. and Jason (Stacey) of Warrenton, Mo.; Her siblings Leo ( Jeanette) Gerritzen of Denver, Colo., Mary L. Alexander of Hutchinson, Margie (Marvin) Bieberle of Great Bend, Virginia Gross of Little River, and Frances (Frannie) Aumiller of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Gerritzen, her sister, Alice Ward and brothers, William A., William F., and Lawrence Gerritzen.    
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 28, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Claflin.  Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 27 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. A vigil with rosary will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Claflin Cemetery, Claflin.
