WICHITA -- Dorothy Marie Alefs, 87, died July 12, 2012 at Lakepoint at Crestview, Wichita. Born January 18, 1925 at Great Bend, she was the daughter of John Taylor and Florence (Grice) Boatright
Mrs. Alefs was a Great Bend, Kansas resident most of her life living twenty years at Moscow, Kansas. She married Irwin Frank Alefs October 28, 1945 at Great Bend, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Joy Goup, Eastern Star, Feisties all of Great Bend, KS
Survivors include her husband, Irwin Frank Alefs, of the home; a son, John Alefs and his wife Sally of Wichita; two daughters, Karen Capell and her husband Bill of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Betty Livingston and her husband Gary of Wichita; a sister, Helen Victor of Bella Vista, Arkan.; four grandchildren, Heather West and her husband Mike, Robb Collins and his wife Corinne, Spencer Alefs, and Maggie Alefs; and three great-grandchildren, Anna West, Brandon West, and Charly Collins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church in Great Bend with Rev. William F. Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, of Great Bend, or Rivercross Hospice, Wichita, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
