GREAT BEND – Dorthy Fletcher, 82, died June 21, 2016 at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
She was born May 5, 1934 at Squires, Mo., the daughter of Arthur and Dollie (Morrison) McKnight.
She married Bernie Eldon “Jigs” Fletcher June 17, 1950 at Mountain Home, Ark. He died Oct. 16, 1996. A long-time Great Bend resident, Mrs. Fletcher was a retired mail contractor. She was a member of Barton Breakers C.B. Club and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, both of Great Bend.
Survivors include four sons, Richard Fletcher and his wife Martha, Great Bend; Danney Fletcher and his wife Glenda, Great Bend; Joe Fletcher, Great Bend, and Steve Fletcher and wife Alexis, Wichita; five daughters, Sharon Mitchell and her husband Norman, Tucumcari, N.M.; Lois Kimberlin, Seneca, Mo.; Betty Ward and her husband Ronnie, Great Bend; Candy Robison and her husband Rick, Great Bend; and Virginia “Lynnie” Bearce, Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Opal Ferguson, Great Bend and Juanita Mason, Great Bend; 38 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Fletcher, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Funeral Service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with Norman Mitchell officiating. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home.
Memorial Funds may be contributed to the American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
