TRIBUNE — Elaine Mae Harper, 79, passed away on Feb. 9, 2016, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune. Born July 7, 1936, at Offerle, she was the daughter of Raymond and Applonia (Stegman)Stegman. On Dec. 27, 1956, she married Marion (Mick) Harper in Offerle. A resident of Tribune since 1957, she was a homemaker. She was an avid fan of the Greeley County School Sports programs as well as KU Basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs. She volunteered at Sacks on Broadway, Greeley County High School Library and served 14 years with Greeley County 4-H. She enjoyed babysitting for many years, especially for her former teachers children and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Harper was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune.
Survivors include, her husband. Marion (Mick) Harper of Tribune, Kansas; four daughters. Denise and Rick Schworm, of Watkins, Colo., Pamela and Jr. Lang, of Tribune, Rhonda and Mike Simpson, of Castle Rock, Colo., and Darcy and Mark Goodenough, of Great Bend; three siblings, Ann and Bud Schaapveld, and Lorraine and Leland Kincaid, both of Dodge City, and Hillarian and Linda Stegman, of Offerle; nine grandchildren, Tawna Schworm of Thornton, Colo. Danica Maxfield of Saginaw, Texas, Keaton Lang of Hoxie, Justin Simpson, of Denver, Colo., Brandon Simpson of Littleton, Colo. Eric Moritz and Bret Moritz, both of Clinton, Mo., Brandon Goodenough of Newton, and Zachary Goodenough of Great Bend; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; and a daughter, Mona Moritz.
Vigil Services will be held at 7 p.m. (MST) on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. (MST) on Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune with Father Benjamin Martin officiating. Burial will be at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Sacks On Broadway in care of the funeral home.
