LARNED — Eleanor M. Adams, 90, died July 14, 2014.
Born May 18, 1924, in Burdett, she was the daughter of Curtis D. and Blanche H. Hayward Smith. On Oct. 20, 1950, she married Delbert L. Adams in Radium.  He passed away on Jan. 30, 2010. A longtime area resident, she was a cosmetologist for 30 years and also worked at the Larned State Hospital.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Larned, the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary, was past president of the Ladies Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Professional Business Women’s Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Fox and Joyce Bettes, both of Larned; a son, Allan Adams, Iowa City, Iowa; a sister, Lola Shannon, Springfield, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Bernard, Dwight, Clarence, Harold W., Maurice and Clyde Smith; two sisters, Helen Halling and Alice Harris; three grandsons, Jeremy Adams, Joseph Adams and John Adams; one granddaughter, Lisa Adams; and one great-grandson, Eason Ray Hughes.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned, with the Rev. Mark Lovett presiding. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be at the Larned Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in care of the funeral home.
