Elizabeth Ann Betty Danek 1925 - 2016

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Danek, 90, died April 3, 2016, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Born Dec. 16, 1925, in Lawrence, Neb., she was the daughter of Bernard J. and Veronica (Isrik) Musenbrock. On April 19, 1952, She married Joseph Frederick Danek in Lincoln, Neb. He died on Feb. 17, 1992. A resident of Great Bend since 1960, coming from Lincoln, Neb., she was a dietician for Great Bend Day Care Center for 25 years before retirement.
Mrs. Danek was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society, in Great Bend.
Survivors include four sons, Joseph F. Danek, II of Great Bend, David J. Danek and his wife Cheryl of Grand Island, Neb., Richard Danek and his wife Sharon of Topeka, and Michael Danek and his wife Tammy of Fulmouth, Va.; two daughters, Marie Stremel and companion Russell Chapman of Arkansas City, and Mary Bailey and her husband Randy of Springfield, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Pauline Musenbrock of Great Bend; 10 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Nick Stremel; one brother, Bernard H. “Buck” Musenbrock; and one twin sister, Rosemary Price.
Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m., and Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m., on Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore celebrating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Prince of Peace Parish or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
