BISON — Elsie A. Peroli, 96, died March 13, 2016, at Salina Regional Health Center. Born March 10, 1920, in Leoti, she was the daughter of William F. “Bill” and Minnie (Seuser) Elder. A 1939 graduate of Bison High School she received her teaching certificate in 1941 from Fort Hays Kansas State College, Hays. On Aug. 6, 1945, she married Mario “Pat” Peroli at Bison. He preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2003. A lifelong resident of Bison, she was a homemaker and school cook in the Bison and Otis-Bison school districts before her retirement.
Mrs. Peroli was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Unit 96 Ladies Auxiliary, WSCS, and Sunshine Unit, all of Bison.
Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Urban (Dennis), of Middlesex, N.J., Jeanette Eklund (John) and Carolyn Purdue (Dick), both of Salina, and Sherri Commons (Greg), of Chapman; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Shockley (Ken), of Warsaw, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Joseph W. “Joe” Peroli; one brother, Leonard Elder; and one sister, Edna Perkins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on  Saturday, March 19 at the United Methodist Church in Bison with the Rev. Janice Farrell officiating. Interment will be in the Lone Star Cemetery in Bison. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse, with the family receiving friends from 6-7 p.m. Church visitation will be from 9:30-10:20 a.m. on Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Bison.
