HAYS — Era Lee (Carter) Popp, 87, Hays, died May 15 at the Via Christi Villages. She was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Marietta, Ga., the daughter of Narvell and Lottie (Belle) Carter. She married Marvin L. Popp. He died on Dec. 14, 2001.  She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Popp was a  member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hays, the VFW Auxiliary and a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Tanya Greeve of Mayetta, Rhonda Brown of Aurora, Colo., and Kimberly Popp of Aurora, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Lloyd Carter, and a sister, Inez Carter.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 19, at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Schoenfield Cemetery in rural Barton County. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. until service time Monday, all at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans, in care of the funeral home.
