Eric J. Rick Legleiter 1956 - 2015

HAYS — Eric J. “Rick” Legleiter, 58, formerly of La Crosse, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at the Hays Good Samaritan Center. Born Dec. 8, 1956, in La Crosse, he was the son of Alvin and Delores (Zimmerman) Legleiter. He lived most of his life in La Crosse, until recently becoming a resident of Hays, moving there from Russell. He was a 1976 graduate of Hays High School. While living in La Crosse, he worked for La Crosse Furniture Company.
Mr. Legleiter was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in La Crosse. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus Council #2970 in La Crosse, and a member of several organizations affiliated with Developmental Services Of Northwest Kansas (DSNWK) in Russell.
Survivors include, four brothers, Gerard Legleiter (Karen), of Sterling, Timothy Legleiter of Pratt, Florian Legleiter (Dianne), of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Kurt Legleiter (Mary), of Paso Robles, Calif.; two sisters, Gerianne Kuntzsch (Carl), of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Mary Jo Tammen (Kent), of Hays; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in La Crosse with Father Matthew Kumi officiating. Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Fridaym Oct. 2, at the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse. A vigil service and rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Church visitation will be from 9 to 9:50 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in La Crosse. Memorials are suggested to Developmental Services Of Northwest Kansas (DSNWK) in Russell.
