ODIN — Eric R. Beran, 50, died May 19 at home in Odin.  Born Aug. 15, 1963 at Great Bend, he was the son of Gerald W. “Jerry”and Elvita (Dolechek) Beran.
Eric married Kristi Schreiber August 27, 1988 at Great Bend.  She survives.  He was a pumper for Richlan Drilling.  A longtime Odin resident, Eric was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Odin.  He was an active member of the Beaver volunteer Fire Department and the American Petroleum Institute.  He enjoyed farming, golf, fishing, and hunting.  
Survivors include his wife, Kristi Beran, and two daughters, Hannah and Sarah, all of the home; his parents, Gerald W. “Jerry” and Elvita Beran, Odin; five brothers: Robin Beran and wife Anne of Peoria, Ill., Gerald “Jr.” Beran and wife Lisa of Odin, Terry “Tex” Beran and Ada of Russell, Kevin Beran of Odin, Craig Beran and wife Michelle of Odin; a sister, Joy Hertach and husband Tim of Claflin; and sister-in-heart Jane Schreiber and husband Rick of Beaver.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, May 22, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.  A Vigil with Rosary will follow on Thursday, May 22, at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin.  Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Odin.  Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Cemetery Fund or Holy Family Catholic Church or Johns Hopkins University, to benefit Pancreatic Cancer Research, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Box 146, Hoisington, KS  67544.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net
