OMAHA, Neb. — Ernest (Bud) M. Amerine, 93, passed away on Nov. 23, 2017, in Omaha, Neb. He was born in 1924 in Great Bend. In 1944, he
joined the Navy flight program during World War II. After transferring to the Air Force, he served as a pilot, flight instructor, and squadron commander during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
Survivors include his sister, Bonnie Rychlec; two sons Gary Amerine and Jeff Amerine; two daughters Deborah Bayne and Lori Fisher; 14
grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Marge Renfro Amerine; his sisters Virginia Bird and Wanda Guesnier; and his son
William Amerine.
A graveside service will be held in Omaha, Neb. on Dec. 2. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Air Force Aid Society (afas.org) in honor of Bud.
