LAWRENCE — Ervin Francis Huslig, 67, and Mary Ann Huslig, 62, died April 20, 2015. Ervin was born August 17, 1947, in Kingman, the son of Anton Frank and Louise (Maneth) Huslig. Mary Ann Huslig was born Sept. 9, 1952, in Hays, the daughter of James M. Hart Sr. and Cecilia (Sack) Hart.
On May 27, 1972, Ervin and Mary Ann were united in marriage in Pratt. Mary Ann attended Pratt Community Junior College, Barton Community College and the University of Kansas.
They moved to Lawrence from Cunningham in July of 1977. Ervin was the Head Locksmith at the University of Kansas. Mary Ann was an Office Specialist in the Comptroller’s Office at the University of Kansas.
Ervin was a Past Grand Knight of the counsel #1372 and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus in Lawrence. Mary Ann was a past regent of the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include their three daughters, Lawanna Huslig-Hanks, (Scott Hanks), and Michelle Huslig (Troy Lowrance), both of Lawrence, and Donna Foster of Eudora; one son, Christopher M. Huslig of Eudora; 10 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Philip, Ethan, Christopher, Alexis, Kody, Cayden, Rhiannon, Hailey, and Rowan; her mother, Cecilia Hart of Bel Aire; sister, Barbara Hart-Janzing of Bel Aire; two brothers, Steven Hart of Great Bend, and Joseph Hart of Amarillo, Texas; his five brothers, Paul of Great Bend, Arthur of Ellinwood, Marcus of Mulvane, Jerome of Ellinwood, and Charles of Ellsworth; two sisters, Mary Ann Wondra of Great Bend, and Helen Schnitker of Kingman; and multiple grandpuppies. She was preceded in death by her father; and brother, James M. Hart Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Lawrence Huslig.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. and the family will greet friends following the rosary until 8:30 p.m. on Sunday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Memorial contributions may be made in their names to St. John Catholic School or The Knights of Columbus #1372, for the benefit of people with intellectual disabilities in care of the funeral home.
