Ethel Marie Dyer, 96, of Great Bend, passed away on Thursday morning, Oct. 20, at the Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend. Ethel was born on Jan. 5, 1915 in Russell, to Emanuel and Elizabeth Milberger. She was a graduate of Russell High School. She was the clerk of the District Court for Barton County for many years, and later worked for Morrison Insurance Agency in Great Bend. She loved animals, particularly dogs.
Ethel was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolann Morrison of Great Bend; a stepson, Bob Dyer of Wichita; a niece, Mary Everett of Plano, Texas; a step-niece, Eunice Lane of Hoisington; and a nephew, John Keltner of Montgomery, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 24, at Charter Funerals in Great Bend, with the Reverend Dr. Scott V. Solether officiating. Interment will be at the Great Bend City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and until service time on Monday at Charter Funerals in Great Bend.
