Everett “Buster” Lee Scott Jr.

HOISINGTON — Everett “Buster” Lee Scott  Jr, 72, of Hoisington, Kan. died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas. Buster was born Oct. 24, 1949 in Montezuma, Kan. to Irma (Waggoner) and Everett Scott Sr. He lived in Hoisington the majority of his life and a few years in Amarillo. He had recently moved back to Amarillo.

Buster was a track foreman for the railroad in Hoisington, worked in the oilfield for years and then a OTR truck driver for years until his retirement. He loved working on anything with an engine and enjoyed drag racing, family gatherings (especially the 4th of July), and flying his plane.

Survivors include his son Everett Lee Scott III and wife Tricia of Amarillo; his daughter Mary Tran of Pueblo, Colo.; three brothers, Leon Scott, Donnie Scott and wife Peggy, all of Great Bend, Kan., Tom Scott of Hoisington; three sisters, Emma Linsner of Great Bend, Shirley Taylor of Jay, Okla. and Ruby Brox of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Buster was preceded in death by his parents and his little brother Randy.

Interment of Ashes will be March 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Hoisington Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family.
