Floreine Margaret Blankenship, 97, died Feb. 8, 2016, at Carriage Square Nursing Home in St. Joseph, Mo. Born Sept. 13, 1918, in Boyd, she was the daughter of Herman Paul and Corda Pearl (Wilmoth) Schwartz. On Jan. 30, 1937, she married Paul Wayne Blankenship in Lyons. He died on Feb. 3, 1977. A lifetime resident of Barton County, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Blankenship was member of the First Christian Church in Great Bend. She was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include one son, Larry Blankenship  and his wife Judy of St. Joseph, Mo.; one daughter, Sandra Frager of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Schwartz and Eston Schwartz.
Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend with the Rev. Joshua Leu officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.
