Florence Evelyn Johnson 1925 - 2017

PAWNEE ROCK — Florence Evelyn Johnson, 91, passed away Jan. 10, 2017, at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned. Born March 2, 1925, in Fowler, she was the daughter of Robert Lee and Evelyn Rose Chipman Stillwell. On Aug. 17, 1942, she married Carl August Johnson in Kingman. Moving from Cunningham in 1957 she was a lifetime area resident of Pawnee Rock. She was a GBM Welder. She loved baking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, sewing, plants, gardening, loved her dogs, and most of all loved her children, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Pawnee Rock Christian Church.
Survivors include, three sons, Frank (Lorna) Johnson, of Wichita, John (Diane Morse) Johnson, of Great Bend, and Howard (Carmen) Johnson, of Claflin; five daughters, Carla (Michael) Nutting, of Crosby, Texas, Darla S. Belt of Pawnee Rock, Sharla (William) Woods, of Larned, Marla C. (Twink) Johnson and Monica Brackbill, both of Pawnee Rock; two sisters, Bonnie Luther of Pratt, and Sally (Adelphus) Grieving of Ingalls; sister-in-law, Joan Stillwell of Penalosa; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl August Johnson; a son, Marvin Dean Johnson; two brothers, Robert Stillwell and Jimmy Stillwell, a sister, Florine Kampling and two grandsons, Jason Johnson and Jeremy Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Pawnee Rock Christian Church with Pastor John Thomas presiding. Burial will be in the Garfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned. Memorials may be given to the Pawnee Rock Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.
