HOISINGTON — Frances G. (Berger) Ellington, 86, died Aug. 12 at Russell Regional Hospital.  Born April 14, 1926 at Blanchard, Mich., she was the daughter of Clinton F. and Lucy Viola (DeGroat) Smalley.  
In 1948, Frances married Marvin Berger at Conway Springs. She married Henry Ellington in 1977 at Hutchinson.  She was a longtime Hoisington resident, and a homemaker.  She also worked at a care home in Hoisington and at Thies Packing Plant in Great Bend for many years. A member of Hoisington Bible Church and VFW Women’s Auxiliary, she enjoyed walking, spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters: Donna Michaud and husband Daryl, Corpus Christi, Texas; Patricia Horton and husband Donald, Hoisington; and Della Kendall and husband Randall, Hutchinson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Royce Harrison, Michael Harrison, Daniel Bartonek, Shawna (Horton) Petersilie, Raymond Horton, Rodney Raymond and Beth Raymond; four step grandchildren; Frank Garst, William Garst, Pat Garst and Teresa Chambers; and four great grandchildren; Amber Harrison, Lexus Petersilie, Hailey Petersilie and Kassy Petersilie
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Marvin Berger and Henry Ellington; two sons, Clyde Raymond and Robert Berger; a grandson, Matthew Myers; three brothers, Roy, Jack and Gene Smalley, and a sister, Viola Carver.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with Reverend Gary Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, and from 9:00 a.m. to service time on Thursday, all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hoisington Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hoisington Bible Church or Hoisington Main Street in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Box 146, Hoisington, KS  67544.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net
