Frances Jean Heine 1926 - 2012

CHASE — Frances Jean Heine, 86, died Aug. 26 at her home in rural Chase. Born March 8, 1926 in Gridley, she was the daughter of Charles Edgar Mills and Minnie Mae Smalley Mills. On Feb. 20, 1949 she married Alvin W. Heine in Ellinwood. She received her registered nursing degree at the Kansas City General Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. A resident of rural Chase since 1949 she was a school nurse at Ellinwood and Chase School Districts.
Mrs. Heine was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Altar Guild, all of Ellinwood and was the treasurer for the Chase High Alumni Association.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin Heine, of the home; two sons, Michael B. (Nancy J.) of Chase and Glenn A. (Linda D.) of Ellinwood; a daughter, Brenda J. (Richard) Evans of Spanish Fork, Ut.; a brother Glen Mills of Towanda; a sister, Helen Slough of Raymond; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinwood with Pastor Jeff Frakes officiating. Burial will be at the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rice County. Friends may visit from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Kimple Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the St. John Lutheran Altar Guild, the St. John Church or the Chase High Alumni Association.
