Franklin B. Shaver 1934 - 2014

QUINLAN, Texas — Franklin B. Shaver, 80, passed away Nov. 29. Born Feb. 5, 1934, in Belpre, he was the son of David and Clara (Buhrer) Shaver. Franklin was a resident of Quinlan, Texas, for 17 years and The Broadmoor in Rockwall, Texas, for the past 7 months. He retired from Walmart after 25 years of dedicated service in the Sporting Goods Department.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Betty (Younger) Shaver; two daughters, Nancy Karst and Lonnie Philburn of Great Bend, and Rhonda (Karst) White and husband J.D. of Royse City, Texas; brother, Walter “Ike” Shaver and wife Judy of Larned; sisters-in-law, Ruth Shaver and Maxine Shaver; and brother-in-law, Bob Vlahos. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Phil; three brothers, Charles, Harold and Ted; five sisters, Betty, Mildred, Myrtle, Nellie and Helen; and beloved dog “Sam.”
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. today at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel in Rockwall, Texas, with Pastor Paul Appel officiating. On Saturday Dec. 6, there will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Beckwith Funeral Home Chapel, 916 Main Street, in Larned. Memorials may be made to Joy Lutheran Church, 302 N.
