Fred James Johnson, age 77, died October 14th, 2022 at home, from heart related issues. He was born on April 17th, 1945 in Melrose, Kansas to James Luther and Effie Mae Johnson. Fred married Cynthia Sue (Eubank), in Great Bend, in 1964. They move to Lewis, Kansas when Fred started working for Cross Mfg. and then moved to Kinsley, Kansas for a few years, then finally moving to Trousdale, Kansas in 1973. Where he lived until his death.
They later divorced and he never remarried. Fred worked various jobs including Cross Mfg. which he worked for over twenty years and then retired. After retiring, he worked for farmers, helping with harvest or working on irrigation systems. Later in his life he did scraping for iron. Fred loved to fish, play guitar and play the fiddle. He enjoyed church and spending time with friends from his church.
Fred leaves behind two daughters Renee Demel (Gary) and Samantha Wesley. Two granddaughters, Cynthia Gore (Wayne) and Melissa Childers (Brook). And five great-grandchildren – Owen Gore, August Benker, Autumn Eshter, Damian Eshter and Kallen Childers – and one brother, Harold Johnson (Carol),
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Ann Johnson and a granddaughter Elizabeth Chaplain Eshter. Also, siblings Joe Veach, Raymond (Chief) Veach, Elstun Veach, Ruby (Mickey) Veach, and Jane Johnson.
Service will be held at Church of Christ in St. John, Kansas on Wednesday, October 19th at 10:30 a.m. Minister Carl Feril presiding.
