Gene Paul DuBois 1931 - 2019

Gene Paul DuBois, age 87, a resident of Satanta, Kansas, died Friday, March 1, 2019. Graveside Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019, at Dudley Township Cemetery, Satanta, Kan.

Gene was born to Clinton DuBois and Thelma (Krause) DuBois on October 21, 1931, in Great Bend, Kan. He graduated from Great Bend High School. He married Betty Anslinger on November 1, 1965, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Gene served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, and Good Conduct Medal.

Gene and his brother, Don, operated C.A. DuBois and Sons Sand Pit in Satanta, Kansas, for several years. He then began his long career as an over the road truck driver, logging thousands of miles hauling cattle, pigs, fertilizer, milk, and whatever else was asked of him. He made numerous friends during his travels and seemed to find a familiar face wherever he went. He was a very hard-working man who loved his family and loved helping those in need.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Thelma DuBois; wife, Dolores Coffee; daughter, Jeana Schuster; and sister, Linda Stringer. Gene is survived by his wife, Betty DuBois of Satanta, Kan.; brother, Don (Mayme) DuBois of Norton, Kan.; sons, Craig (Beverly) DuBois of Wichita, Rick DuBois of Bridgeport, Neb.; daughters, Kaci (Mark) Pickens of Enid, Okla., Paula Sosa of Hugoton, Kan., Jeannetta Adamson of Pampa, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Loper of Canada, Nicci (Terry) Munter of Bemidji, Minn., Joshua (Megan) DuBois of Lincoln, Neb., Michaela Likes and Michael Adamson of Pampa, Texas, Haley Sosa and Riley Sosa of Hugoton, Kan., Emma DuBois of Whitman, North Dakota, Zachary DuBois of Beatrice, Neb., Dustin Burch of Caney, Kan., Amanda (Chris) Hawn of Phenix City, Ala., Karli Burch of Weatherford, Okla., Derrick (Lynsi) Burch of Oologah, Okla., Amber Debo of Norman, Okla.; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
