Gerald D. Krug, 68, of Great Bend, died Sept. 27 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned. He was born Feb. 27, 1942, at Great Bend, the son of Edward and Helen V. (Brack) Krug. He married Marlies Pütz on April 13, 1968, at Memphis, Ark. A lifetime Barton County resident, he was owner and operator of E&E Glass and Gifts, Great Bend.

Mr. Krug was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam era stationed in Germany. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW Post 3111 and American Legion Argonne Post 180, all of Great Bend. He was also an avid bowler.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; mother Helen V. Krug of Great Bend; son Eric L. Krug of Overland Park; a sister, Carolyn Lowry and husband Dwayne of Elizabethton, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Krug, Overland Park; sister-in-law Helma Prümm and husband Hubert; nieces and nephews Vera Prümm and husband Ronald and their daughter Elizabeth, Jörg Prümm, Axel Prümm, Kevin Lowry, Kregg Lowry and wife Amy, and Kayla Wright and husband Joseph and their son Mason. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 6-8. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home.
